SINP – International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry

The Saskatchewan Express Entry (SEE) stream is one of Saskatchewan’s PNP streams that does not require the candidate to hold a job offer to be eligible. However, the stream does require the candidate to have work experience in a set of in-demand occupations.

Age

Between 18 to 50 years of age

Language

You must demonstrate you meet the minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) requirements for each language skill, either in French or in English.

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
    Minimum language levels needed for your job in each of the four language abilities (writing, speaking, listening, reading):

    • CLB7 for NOC TEER Category 0 or 1, or
    • CLB5 for NOC TEER Category 2 or 3.

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Minimum language levels needed CLB7 or higher

Education Outside Canada

  • Have completed post-secondary school or training that is comparable to at least one year of Canadian education. You must have earned a diploma, certificate or degree related to your intended occupation.
  • To find out if your education is related to your intended occupation you can review the “Employment Requirements” section of your National Occupation Code profile.
  • For all education outside Canada, you must submit an educational credential assessment (ECA) from IRCC’s list of approved organizations.
  • Those who have finished training as part of high school do not need to submit an ECA, but must apply for Saskatchewan licensure. For more info, see Regulated Occupations and Licensing Requirements.

Work/Business Experience

The minimum need for work experience is:

  • For skilled professionals (not tradespeople): one year work experience in the past 10 years.
  • For skilled tradespeople: two years work experience in a skilled trade in the past five years.
  • For Canadian Experience Class: One year work experience in Canada in the past three years (skilled tradespeople and skilled professionals).
  • Your above work experience must be in the field of your completed post-secondary education or training.
  • Your work experience must be related to your job and education.

Visit SINP Requirements Related to Professional Status or Licensure to see if your job needs specific SINP education requirements. you may need to show a Professional Status or proof of eligibility for Licensure for your job. Have experience in a job that is not on the Excluded Occupation List.

Funds

You must show settlement funds and a settlement plan. IRCC PROOF OF FUNDS

  • You must have enough money to support yourself and your dependent family members when you settle in Canada.
  • Note that a family member includes your spouse, common law partner and children under the age of 22, including their children.
  • You can meet this requirement through one or a combination of any of the following:
    • funds as demonstrated by the balance listed in bank statements, or statements of accounts showing other investments such as non-locked in, fixed term deposits, mutual funds, etc.
    • annual earnings from ongoing employment
    • a job offer

the minimum amount you need to immigrate to Canada as of May 2024. If you have more money, you should list the full amount in your profile or application.

You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family if

  • you’re applying under the Canadian Experience Class or
  • you’re authorized to work in Canada and you have a valid job offer, even if you apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program

Application Period

Saskatchewan Express Entry stream applications are processed on average within 23 weeks, based on the latest estimates (April 1 to June 30, 2023) from the SINP. If you have been requested to submit additional documentation, you may experience an additional 4 weeks of processing times.

Application Fee

To be eligible, you must be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and pay a non-refundable $350 application fee by Visa or Mastercard.

Submission of Application

Candidates must: ​

  • Meet the eligibility requirements of the federal FSW, FST, or CEC programs.
  • Generate their Express Entry profile, and specify their interest in the province by selecting “Saskatchewan” or “All Provinces and Territories”.
  • Qualify for the SINP stream eligibility requirements and submit an Expression of Interest on SINP Online.
  • Receive an Invitation to Apply through their SINP Online profile.
  • Apply to the SEE stream, maximum 60 days after receiving the invitation, by submitting their application through SINP Online (filling in forms and uploading required documents).
  • Accept the Saskatchewan provincial nomination (after the SINP processes their application) within 30 days of receiving it on their Express Entry profile.
  • Obtain an additional 600 CRS points in the Express Entry profile, and receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
  • Apply for permanent residence through their Express Entry profile.
